They just don't get it, right?
Why in the world would you want to know how many of your users block
pop-ups? Why in the world would you want to show them a pop-up being
almost the year 2006, knowing that most of your users use the latest
versions of IE or Firefox and they have pop-up blockers activated by
default. Why would you smash them with a survey on their faces when you
can use pop-ins to ask them nicely to complete it, and be not only less
intrusive but creative?
It's a well known fact that pop-ups are an aggressive internet
marketing tactic that works, and that most of the users learned to hate
it. That means it just doesn't work so well anymore. Why then, use a
pop-up to ask help from your own users knowing you will not only lose
the opportunity to reach those that block it, but also giving a bad
impression and calling to lose those that hate to be smashed in the
face with something they didn't ask?
It's also a well known fact that pop-ins are not just as effective, but more.
Use pop-ins, be creative. Your users can't block them, they won't even
want to, they will see them as a part of your page and be willing to
respond.
They just don't get it.
